The heart chakra, 4th chakra of the chakra system, is the most important chakra because it's where you experience pure Divine love. It's the place where your soul resides and is the center for love and compassion. Your heart chakra is located in the center of your chest, the area where your heart organ is.
The heart chakra nourishes the thymus gland (vital for the immune system), the organ of the heart, the circulatory system, the blood, and the parasympathetic nervous system. Since the blood nourishes every cell of the body a healthy heart chakra cannot be overemphasized. Did you know that the heart’s intelligence is superior to the brain's? The brain controls the physical body, but the brain itself is controlled by the heart's intelligence. It is love and compassion that nourishes the heart chakra. One way to nurture your heart chakra is by visualizing one of two images: 1) The sacred symbol of the heart chakra (depicted above), or 2) A beautiful emerald green ball of light infused with sparkles of pink tourmaline. Whichever image you choose, visualize it for at least 5 minutes nourishing both the actual organ of your heart and your heart chakra. This technique also supports your human energy field, inclusive of your subtle energy bodies, balancing your Body, Mind and Spirit, restoring your sense of wholeness.
