What IS a Healer? So what is a healer, anyway? Simply put, a healer facilitates healing opportunities for others by holding sacred space, channeling pure unconditional love and healing energy in the form of Reiki, unconditional love, chromotherapy, shamanism - any form of spiritual Light energy. A takes many forms: a mom, dad, coach, energy medicine practitioner, Reiki therapist, shaman, spirit communicator - the list is endless. There are also infinite forms of healing when it comes to healing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of ourselves and others. It's very important to remember that healer does notdo the healing, the healer simply creates an environment to allow the natural healing process to occur. The bodymind spirit/soul has a natural Divine given self-healing ability. The healer simply sets up the sacred space for spiritual healing to occur creating the opportunity for someone to receive the energy they need to have a transformational healing to occur.
What “special gifts” are required to be a healer? Some people were born in this lifetime with the soul's mission to become a healer. Just like some folks were born with a soul's mission to be an artist, or a doctor or an entertainer - to share their gifts with the collective. However, we all have the ability to paint, draw, sing, dance, and even go to the pharmacy and select an over the counter medication. Someone born with the blueprint to hold space to help other with their healing process are simply able to access a greater amount of Light energy to do so. BUT, everyone can absolutely develop their natural ability for self-healing. Every healer has a unique skill set so some healers are more effective with physical ailments, some with psychological and emotional issues, while others may help people with spiritual growth which is essential to sustain the healing process.
Can anyone become a healer? Yes. Think of when you've been with someone in pain - you may have instinctively reached out to help them, or comfort them in some way. Or, when a child cries you may naturally go to comfort them - this is all a offering of healing energy. It is done out of pure love and concern for another. By consciously connecting with and developing your natural abilities you may fine tune them to help others. So yes everyone definitely has potential to become a healer, but like everything else, it requires training, experience, dedication and the ability to connect with humanity, soul, energy systems, unconditional love, and the spiritual energy of all Life forms.
How can I develop my ability to heal? The most important way to develop your ability to heal is to nurture it. Perhaps you’ve already found that people feel better when they're around you, or when you listen to them, or touch them, or pray for them. Continuing to practice these skills only enhances them. There are also many different programs and reasons to learn how to heal: some want to learn how to heal themselves, how to help their loved ones. and others desire to have their own healing practice. The first step is to identify what kinds of skills you want to learn, and what kind of healing seems most natural and suited to you.
How do I become a professional healer? If you want to enhance your natural healing ability, formal training and education will greatly assist your ability to effect healing transformations for others. This simple gives you the foundation to build upon and helps you become disciplined while facilitating healing sessions. If your desire is to have your own healing practice, then like every other career, it takes passion, dedication, knowledge and commitment. Becoming certified in a particular modality or system of healing can help you achieve professional standing in the wellness field and once you've received formal training you can decide if you're ready to charge a fee for your services - when you are then you're on your way to becoming a professional healer. If you don't feel ready to charge for your professional energy healing services, then take additional time to develop your skills and abilities. People will be hiring you as a professional to help guide them and it's important to feel prepared and confident in your abilities. Just like physicians and psychologists require internship and residency experience before practicing professionally - the same is true for intuitive energy healers, Reiki therapists, and intuitive coaches. Decide if you want to work for yourself, or work for another organization. If you want to work for yourself, you'll have to ensure that you have enough income to support yourself as you increase your clientele. It is apparent to others when a healer is desperate to support themselves financially and often times the sessions suffer because of it.
Becoming a professional intuitive healer is just like any other profession: you need to define and maintain professional boundaries, have a professional space to work in, become well versed in the legal requirements for the city and state that you work in, and become affiliated with professional organizations to build your reputation as a professional in your field and most importantly, build your own stellar reputation as a healer in your community.
